Donut Dash 4-4-4-4

FAQ

What is a competitive participant?

Those that accept the challenge of running 4 miles and consuming all 4 donuts while at Marie’s should register as a competitive participant. They will have their own unique area in which to consume the 4 donuts and will be watched by our volunteers to make sure all donuts are consumed before heading back. In order to be an official winner, man or woman, you must have your bib marked by a volunteer verifying you have eaten all 4 donuts.

Do I have to eat all 4 donuts?

No, as a non-competitive participant, once you claim your bag of 4 donuts or 6 donut holes, you can consume them when you choose. Most participants will linger at Marie’s Donuts and consume some or all of their donuts there, carrying the rest back with them to enjoy later.

Do children 11 & under have to register?

There are 2 possibilities for children 11 & under

• Free – when the parent is registering, include the child’s name and age, there is a space provided. Children registered for free will not receive a t-shirt, donut holes, or award at the finish line.

• $10 – register children 11 & under to receive a t-shirt, 6 donut holes, and a finishers award at the finish line.

Are gluten free or other types of donuts available?

Unfortunately we don’t have gluten free donuts available at this time. All participants will receive the round glazed donuts and donut holes that Marie’s makes daily. We would love to provide this as an option in the future if we can find a viable and cost effective means of doing so. Some parents bring their own gluten free donuts or other snack to provide to their children so they feel included.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are ok but please remember to obey all leash laws since the event takes place in a city park and on city streets. Your dog is your responsibility and nobody knows your dog better than you. Please consider the following before bringing your dog – Is your dog friendly with other dogs? Is your dog food aggressive (we don’t want a dog snatching a donut and a finger from a child)? Is your dog comfortable in large crowds? We will have a sponsor table at Marie’s Donuts that will provide “doggie donuts”.

Can I bring a stroller, scooter, and/or bike?

Since we aim to be an event in which the whole family can participate, strollers are ok. For those children that are too big for the stroller but may not be ready to walk/run 4 miles, we encourage the use of scooters used with a helmet. We discourage the use of bikes due to the number of participants and controllability.

Will there be a packet pickup?

Yes, we will have a packet pick up on Friday March 23rd. There will be a lunch time pick up Sutter Memorial Hospital and an afternoon/evening pickup at Marie’s Donuts. More details will be sent out and posted on Facebook. We highly encourage you pick up your packet the day before the event. You can also pick up the packet for friends and family members. If you aren’t able to pick up your packet ahead of time, you can pick it up the morning of the event from 7:30 – 8:15 am.
